I designed, implemented, managed, monitored and integrated the BMC products called "Enterprise Control System" (ECS) and "CONTROL-M" into a client’s existing information systems environment. These products provided a cross-platform job scheduling system that allowed the client to integrate processing across their many operating systems that included MVS, VSE, AIX, Solaris, OS/400 and MS-Windows. Since this system controls all enterprise processing across all platforms, it was of critical importance that it always be on-line and functional. I designed the system in a High Availability Clustered Multi-Processing (HACMP) environment to ensure availability. I also wrote enterprise wide standards to identify the methods and procedures that were used to schedule jobs in this system. These standards were of critical importance due to the diversity of operating system’s being controlled by this system. I am an advanced technical consultant who specializes in Unix related technologies and Internetworking. I have worked with almost every variety of Unix over the last 22 years on a wide variety of platforms. My client list is wide and varied and includes such organizations as Fleming Co’s, Wal-Mart, US Marine Corps, Urocor, Eli Witt Co., Federal Aviation Administration, Southwestern Bell Mobile Telephone, and many others. Each of these organizations has many unique application requirements, and some common requirements as well. As you might imagine, I have designed, implemented, supported and maintained solutions for many of the most widely used applications in use today including Oracle, Informix, Sybase, Ingres, ECS/CONTROL-M, MQSeries, Mercator, Hyperion, Cognos, HP Openview, Apache and many, many custom written applications. I am IBM certified as an Advanced Technical Expert on the AIX RS/6000/pSeries environment and have worked extensively in a wide range of industries such as retail/wholesale, healthcare, aviation, engineering, scientific, telecommunications, and education. Over the years I have written and assembled many documents related to standardized methodologies and procedures, which may be of immediate, help to you. These documents are freely available on my web site at the following URL: http://www.mtxia.com/standards If you are curious about my company name, Mt Xia, this is actually AIX with the little trademark symbol ( tm ), spelled backwards. You may have surmised from this that my main focus is on the IBM AIX platform, which is true, but certainly not exclusive. As I mentioned previously, I have worked with almost every variety of Unix, including Sun and Linux, and I would like to ask if you have any Unix or Internetworking projects on which I may bid or submit a proposal? Additional information about me, my career, and many of the projects on which I have worked is available at the following URL: http://dfrench.tripod.com You may also want to know that I teach Unix and Korn Shell programming for Learning Tree International.
